HEAT PUMP INSTALL & SERVICE

The right system for Florida — heating and cooling in one unit.

Heat pumps make sense in Central Florida like nowhere else. Mild winters mean a single high-SEER2 heat pump replaces both AC and furnace, with electric strip backup for the rare 30° morning. Duke Energy and OUC rebates handled in-house.

HEAT PUMPS IN CENTRAL FLORIDA

Why heat pumps win here, and what to know before you buy.

Florida's mild winters are heat-pump heaven. Even on the coldest mornings, an air-source heat pump pulls enough heat from outdoor air to warm an Orlando home efficiently — at roughly a third the operating cost of pure electric resistance heating. Dual-fuel (gas + heat pump) is rare in Florida; most homes never need it.

01

New heat pump installation

We size every heat pump with a Manual J load calculation — not a square-footage chart. SEER2-rated 15.2 minimum (the new federal standard for the southeast region), with variable-speed inverter options that cut bills 25-40% over legacy single-stage units. Carrier, Trane, Mitsubishi, Daikin.

02

Heat pump repair

Reversing valve stuck, defrost cycle failing, electric strip backup not engaging on a cold morning. Heat-pump diagnostics need techs who actually understand the heating side — most Florida HVAC training skims it. Our certified team works on heating systems weekly, even in May.

03

Duke Energy & OUC rebates

Duke Energy and OUC both offer rebates on qualifying high-efficiency heat pumps — typically $300-$1,200 depending on SEER2 rating and HSPF2 score. We handle the paperwork, submit on your behalf, and apply the rebate against your invoice so you never see the gap.

04

Mini-split (ductless) heat pumps

Perfect for additions, converted garages, sunrooms, mother-in-law suites, and older Orlando homes without ductwork. Mitsubishi and Daikin multi-zone systems give you per-room control, near-silent operation, and SEER2 ratings into the high 20s.

05

Twice-yearly heat pump maintenance

Heat pumps run year-round in Florida, so wear accumulates faster than in northern climates. Our Comfort Club plan includes a fall heating-mode inspection — reversing valve test, defrost board check, electric strip amperage — that almost no other Florida contractor bothers with.

06

Sizing & equipment selection

Oversized heat pumps short-cycle in shoulder seasons (March, November) and never run long enough to dehumidify. Undersized ones never reach setpoint on the hottest days. We size at the load — not at what the previous unit was — and we will explain the trade-offs in plain English.

HEAT PUMP CUSTOMERS

What homeowners say

★★★★★via Google

Honest, friendly, and fair. They quoted half what a national chain wanted for the same repair. Repeat customer for life.

Booked a tune-up online Friday night, they were out Saturday morning. Found a worn capacitor before it became a 3 AM emergency.

Tech showed up in a clean truck with shoe covers — small thing, big deal. Got our system running again the same afternoon.

FAQ

Heat pump questions

  • 01How long does a typical AC installation take?+

A standard residential changeout — same location, same configuration — takes most of one day. Adding new ductwork, electrical upgrades, or going ductless can extend that to two days. We will give you a realistic schedule before we start.

  • 02What size AC unit do I need?+

Sizing is not just about square footage — it depends on your insulation, ceiling height, window count, and Florida sun exposure. We perform a Manual J load calculation so you get a system sized correctly. Oversized units short-cycle and waste money; undersized units never keep up.

  • 03Do you install ductless mini-splits?+

Yes. Mini-splits are an excellent choice for additions, garages, sunrooms, and older homes without ductwork. We install single-zone and multi-zone systems and handle all line-set, condensate, and electrical work.
